She is an officer in the Indian Revenue Service of 2018 Batch. Before joining the Government service, she has worked in the technical (IBM, Microsoft) and financial fields (State Bank of India). A voracious reader, an ardent admirer of Indian handlooms, she also mentors students for competitive examinations and runs her own blog, “The Melange” (https://katyayanibhatia.wordpress.com). She is very passionate about gender issues, and as a probationer, started gender sensitisation sessions in LBSNAA, Mussoorie, and continues to contribute on gender issues. She has recently co-founded a gender collective named Viraam, addressing gender violence.
