Industrial Training

Industrial Internship (Industrial Training) of students from every branch is an integral part of the curriculum and is aimed at making the students aware of the Industrial operations and practices. While exposing them to the industrial environment and by getting them acquainted with the processes, procedures, as well as rigor and complexities of the industrial world, the student becomes tuned to application aspects of the engineering profession with required managerial outlook.

During the Industrial Internship students are required to observe, analyze and evaluate the various activities and identify issues, problems, best practices in the assigned industry and record these experiences of their training period and write a report on the same with possible solutions to the problems and innovative products or services that they can think of based on this exposure. 
Industrial Internship program is held in the months of June and July of every year for a period six weeks or more as mentioned in the Academic Calendar.

• Each B. Tech student will undergo an industrial training of six weeks duration during the summer vacation after sixth semester studies.
• Initially, students can make application for industrial training and take a maximum of three letters of recommendation for different companies.
• Each student selected for Industrial Internship may take a letter of recommendation & training diary from T & P Cell mentioning the name of company where he/she plans to undergo industrial training.
• During the Industrial Internship in the selected company, the student must maintain  discipline and  decorum of the company.
• In the case of T& P Cell or University receiving complaints from company, a strict action will be taken against the student and he/she will be debarred from further training and placement.
• During summer training, student has to maintain the training diary provided by the T& P Cell on daily basis with details of task undertaken with signature of the supervisor.
• Students should complete their summer training before the registration of next semester as mentioned in the Academic Calendar.
• Students have to submit the original and photocopy of the original training certificate to the T & P Cell after completion of the training. The T & P Head/ Coordinator after verification will return the original certificate to the student.
• Students have also to submit training diary, training report and a photocopy of the training certificate in the respective Department before the date specified for viva-voce.
• The training report and diary will be evaluated by panel of two/three examiners to be appointed by Head of respective Department.
• The Head of the respective department will forward consolidated report mentioning successful/unsuccessful completion of industrial training along with photocopy of the training certificate to the registry.
• If student fails to fulfil any of above mentioned conditions and fails to undergo Industrial Internship, then he/she is not eligible for the award of degree.
