About LRC
The Learning Resource Center (LRC) is a backbone of academic and research activities of the University, serving to support teaching, learning and research. The LRC is a separate block of three-story building embedded to the main academic block which can accommodate nearly 260 readers at a time. The library is entirely devoted to the scholarly needs of Engineering, technology, Social Science students and faculty. It carries a wide range of publications in the areas of Computer, IT, Civil, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Physics, Materials Science, Electronics, Communication Engineering along collections in Humanities and Social Sciences. LRC has been pooling latest quality books on competitive examinations and general reading books. It adopts open shelf system which offers freedom to students to visit, browse, read and explore any document available. The library also subscribes to over 70 national journals and magazines in print format and offers subscription to various local, regional, and national newspapers in Hindi and English. LRC’s operations are fully computerized with the help of Library Management Software, known as 'KOHA'.
In addition to its print collection, the LRC subscribes to various online databases focused on Engineering and Technology, providing access to extensive collections of full-text resources across all major fields. Furthermore, the LRC has established a digital library using DSpace, an open source software. This digital library serves as an institutional repository dedicated to storing the scholarly output of the institute.
The LRC is actively engaged as a member of the Developing Library Network (DELNET), and regularly utilizing its Inter-Library Loan (ILL) and Document Delivery Services (DDS). Additionally, the LRC has implemented RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology to monitor the movement of documents within the LRC. The collection at the LRC is expanding rapidly, with plans to add need based books. The LRC is dedicated to providing quality services to its users, leveraging state-of-the-art facilities.
